GIVING TO THE POOR: “If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs.” Debariym (Deuteronomy) 15:7-8 We are to be generous and GIVE to the poor. I know that Debariym 15:8 says “lend” but let’s look at how YaHuW’shuwa (Jesus) refers to lending, “And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.” Luqas (Luke) 6:34. We must view “lending” in the same respect as giving, because everything that Elohiym “gives” us is Him just lending to us what belongs to Him. We are to give with no expectations for repayment…a gift. Everlasting life belongs to Elohiym, does it not? And life everlasting He freely gives to us! See how this works??? Blessed are those who lend and require no repayment; it’s not Biblical, just my own truth. We may not be rich as the world defines it, but 1 Timotiyos (Timothy) 6:18 give us a Godly view, “They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share” Someone who is “poor” may also be poor in heart, poor in health, poor in spirit, etc. Here’s the thing…I don’t care what you’re going through or what your lot in life may be right now, but you better understand that there is always someone who would gladly trade places with you in a heartbeat! We ALWAYS have something to give because love always makes room for more! Amen? You may not have a dime to spare but you do have time, a sympathetic ear, skills that help, or whatever. The point is, if we do nothing for those in need, the need can defeat them. Think about how you can be a blessing. Make a difference for Elohiym’s sake. Amen? “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” Mishley (Proverbs) 14:31
