GLENDA PACK SNYDER, CLASS OF 1970 This wonderful gal lives down the street from me in Seal Beach. Her place looks like paradise! When I rang her bell one day, she came to the door in a beautiful Hawaiian mumu with a huge colorful parrot on her arms, about the size of an eagle! Glenda told me that she is related to Rod Marinelli, Class of 1967. When I was a freshman, I joined the wrestling team and I remembered Rod. He looked 30 years old, like in those Hollywood movies...you look and think, Hey, they dont look like high school students, they look over 30! That was Rod. They named the football field after him. He was former coach of the Detroit Lions. Glendas husband Steve is something else...he shares a passion in WWII air combat like me and wrote the book SHOT DOWN last year. I bought the book and it had me on the edge of my seat. It was all the more thrilling because I knew them personally!!! It was his fathers story in World War II. Steve too found closure for himself and his dad by finding the German fighter pilot who shot down his dads B-17! He interviewed the guy for the book! Just a few years ago, they took their dad back to Europe, and he thanked all the resistance people who risked their lives to help him survive. You can get the book on Amazon!
