GLOBAL WARMING may have stagnated-- but DOUBTS about its validity - TopicsExpress

GLOBAL WARMING may have stagnated-- but DOUBTS about its validity are RISING! -- In 1989, the Associate Press reported: "Using computer models, researchers concluded that global warming would raise average annual temperatures nationwide 2 degrees by 2010." But according to NASA, global temperature has increased by less than half that -- about 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit -- from 1989 to 2010. And in 1972, the Christian Science Monitor reported: "Arctic specialist Bernt Balchen says a general warming trend over the North Pole is melting the polar ice cap and may produce an ice-free Arctic Ocean by the year 2000." That also proved wrong. Many are beginning to doubt the fearmongering cries of "global warming". German climate scientist Hans von Storch has stated in interviews that despite predictions of a warming planet the temperature data for the past 15 years shows an increase of 0.06 or “very close to zero.” "If things continue as they have been, in five years, at the latest, we will need to acknowledge that something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models. A 20-year pause in global warming does not occur in a single modeled scenario. But even today, we are finding it very difficult to reconcile actual temperature trends with our expectations."~Hans von Storch. Studies now being released with a 15-year data collection showing virtually no rise in the Earth’s temperature means if global warming continues to stagnate, doubts will obviously grow stronger. ---------- Storch is a professor at the Meteorological Institute of the University of Hamburg and director of the Institute for Coastal Research at the Helmholtz Research Centre in Geesthacht, Germany. spiegel.de/international/world/interview-hans-von-storch-on-problems-with-climate-change-models-a-906721.html
