GLOW TODAY Dead To Sin, Alive Unto God “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:11) The victory of a nation in a war depends on how effectively it renders the opposition inactive. The enemy should be in a place that it surrenders and ceases to raise its hood. We are in a struggle against sin. Spiritually, it’s the greatest enemy that can threaten our life with God. The only way we can take victory over sin is in the spiritual level. Our lowly bodies are prone to sin and weakness as we are in the world. The only way we can deal with our body that has a desire to sin is to enforce spiritually the victory that the Lord Jesus accomplished in His body for us on the cross. Enforcing the victory of the Lord over sin, sickness and Satan should be taken spiritually by reckoning (Greek: Logizomai) ourselves dead to sin. It’s not the denial of sin in us, but the denial of our self to sin. We should have a bottom line conviction to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. We are alive unto God only because of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. Our spirits are alert to the promptings of the Holy Spirit only because of the Lord. So reckon yourself dead to sin. Sin cannot affect us as we were dead with the Lord which is evident by our act of baptism. Further, we should take a conscious decision to live a sanctified life by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are no more victims of sin when we lean on the work of the Lord Jesus. Reckon yourself dead to sin. Enforce your authority over it by prayer and confession of His word. Thanks be to God who gives us victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are dead to sin but alive unto God to serve Him.
