GLUTEN!!! So you decide to go gluten free to be healthier. We know that Avoiding wheat can definitely reduce fat and contort your blood sugar levels . For instance, 2 slices of whole wheat bread will increase your blood sugar as much as 6 teaspoons of sugar. The common link between sugar and wheat is how it effects your blood sugar. So, simply put avoiding sugar and wheat will go a long way to improving your health. Its a no brainer. The problem is the food industry is marketing products as gluten free that are worse than table sugar. Check the labels of products marked gluten free and youll see; tapioca starch, cornstarch, potato starch, rice starch and other junk carbs as ingredients. Of course, Wheat is one of the worst foods for blood sugar levels but compared to the carbohydrate ingredients listed above its not half bad. These starches will send blood sugar levels sky high, cause insulin resistance, grow abdominal fat, raise triglycerides, etc. all of which you were trying to control in the first place by avoiding wheat. Once again the food industry isnt about offering you the best product, its about making money. So what to do? Its really simple to be gluten free by avoiding wheat products. Read the labels and of course avoid wheat, but dont buy a product that is using starches and sugars instead, youre defeating the purpose. Most of all, stay away from pre-packaged foods that are labeled as being made gluten free. At the very least read the label and if it contains anything that you cant identify put it back. Personally, I think avoiding sugar should be the number one priority in everyones life. Wheat is a very close second. Avoiding both completely, for most people is daunting, but if you can make a major reduction in them the benefits will soon outweigh the cravings. Good Luck Gggrrrrrr!!!
