GM FAMILY AND FRIENDS 1 Kings 19:1-12 I love pictures of landscapes, sunsets and the rising sun. Pictures of trees, flowers and even animals. Some are subtle shades of pastels and others bold strokes of bright colors. Sometimes the sun sinks quietly in the sky, then at times it look like a fiery explosion. In pictures and in person, both show the handiwork of God. When it comes to Gods work in the world, my preferences are the same. I would rather see dramatic answers to prayer than ordinary provisions of daily bread. But both are the work of God. Elijah may have had similar preferences. He had grown accustomed to being the center of Gods grand displays of power. When he prayed, God showed up in dramatic ways-first in a miraculous defeat against the prophets of Baal, then in the end to a long and devastating drought(1 Ki 18). But then Elijah felt afraid and started to run. God sent an angel to feed him to strengthen him for his journey. After 40 days he arrived in Horeb. God showed him that He was now communicating in a still small voice, not flashy miracles(19:11-12). If youre discouraged because God hasnt shown up in a blaze of glory, perhaps Hes revealing Himself with His quiet presence! God is in the small things as well as the great! (RBC Ministry) Lord God,its in the precious name of Jesus that I humbly come to You this morning. I thank You Father for and on behalf of all my family and friends, from the oldest to the youngest for allowing us another chance to be a witness of Your goodness. Thank You that Your comfort,Your peace and Your love rests in our hearts and minds this day. Thank You Lord for that still small whisper in our ears to awaken us and for the patience to wait on You even during trials and difficulties. Lord theres not enough time nor breath in my body for me to thank You for all You have done, is doing, will do, can do and want to do in, for, with and through me. May the words Thank You-Thank You and Thank You forever express the gratitude in my heart. May my conversation,my conduct and my character bring You the glory You deserve and be the encouragement others need during their journey down that long road of obedience. Its in Jesus name I do pray!Amen! Christs Ministry Of Reconciliation & Encouragement//2 Co 5:18-20 BE ENCOURAGED AND BE AN ENCOURAGEMENT Ambassador For Christ Min BK Young
