GM FAMILY AND FRIENDS Another blessed weekend upon us-THANK YOU LORD! Father God in the precious name of Jesus, I humbly come to You this morning to thank You for yet another day. Thank You Lord, for watching over all my family and friends and I pray You continue meeting each one of them at their needs. Thank You for and on behalf of all my family and friends. Father I also thank You forgiving us for any and every thing we said, done or thought which wasnt pleasing to You. Continue Your good works in, for, with and through Your people. Thank You for strengthening my nephew Tyler, my aunts, Louise, and Bess Alice and my sister in-law Bernie. Thank You Father for comforting my sister in-law Robin in her heart and mind this day! Continue strengthening her as well Father. Lord, I thank You for the structure of family and pray, that, as ours continue to grow stronger and stronger in number, let us grow stronger in the knowledge of You. Let Your presence be felt in and through our lives more and more as these days go by, using us to Your glory until that great day were reunited with those who have gone on before us to be with You! Now Lord God as we prepare and go through this day, I pray Your mighty presence be felt in and through our lives, and may our conduct, our character and our conversation forever glorify You and encourage others. Its in the matchless, majestic and marvelous name of Jesus Christ I do pray! Amen! -------- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 When my father was in the hospital, on that bed spending his last days before slipping into eternity, all my siblings were there. Everyone except me. To this day that moment of his passing still has an effect on me, and not because I wasnt there. My dad was always there for me(and my siblings as well). For me-he was my SUPERMAN. Ive seen him hurt once(broken leg) and that didnt stop him from being father-provider-husband-friend! I have great memories of him playing baseball with me, trying to teach me and baby brother to swim(baby bro got it)! He told few stories of his youth, growing up in the south. As he passed on,the reality of the irreversible finality of death really hit hard. My SUPERMAN was gone from this world and another vacancy sign now hung on the door of my heart. Yet, even in the midst of such loss and grief, Gods Word speaks encouragingly into the emptiness of the heart! The apostle Paul teaches us that at the coming of the Lord Jesus, those who have gone on before will rise first and we shall be caught up together with them...And thus we shall always be with the Lord(v 17). Now thats a family reunion Im really looking forward to. Not only to be reunited with my mother, father, sister, brother and others, but to be with the Lord! C. S. Lewis said,Christians never say goodbye. My Pop never said goodbye either. He always said either See you later or So long for now. Im eagerly awaiting that ultimate reunion!
