GMA Weather WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER ONE TROPICAL CYCLONE ALERT: TROPICAL DEPRESSION “ZORAIDA” ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 11 NOVEMBER 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today) THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION EAST OF SOUTHERN MINDANAO HAS ENTERED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR) AND WAS NAMED “ZORAIDA”. Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “ZORAIDA” was estimated based on all available data at 950 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (5.0° N, 135.0°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move Northwest at 28 kph. Forecast Position: Tropical Depression “ZORAIDA” is expected to be at 400 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur by tomorrow morning and in the vicinity of Tagbilaran City by Wednesday morning. By Thursday morning, it is expected to be at 170 km West of Coron, Palawan. PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL # 1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours) : Dinagat Island, Siargao Island, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.. • Sea travel is risky over the Northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and Eastern seaboard of Northern and central Luzon. • The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today. — with Rose Dela Cerna
