Starting next school year, the largest high school in Connecticut will be getting rid of midterms and final exams, and will be replacing the tests with projects. The district says too many hours of valuable instruction time are lost to preparing for and administering tests. Administrators say a better approach is project-based learning, with assignments that require research and presentations. They say this approach more accurately reflects knowledge of the subject matter. What do you think about getting rid of exams? Do you agree with what the administrators say?
