GOAT BANK PROJECT ADRA Philippines, through the ADRA Gift Catalog program of ADRA International, provides continuing livelihood support to poor families around the country. Last week, we turned over goats to the residents of Brgy. Camanchilis, Matanao, Davao Del Sur as a way of helping them generate local income by raising goats! Goats are ideal for families in almost every region because they can adapt to many environments, even the harsh climates found in so many developing countries. Each family receives a pair of animals from ADRA’s goat bank, and they repay the bank when the first offspring is produced. After that, the original goats and all future offspring belong to the family to use for additional nutrition and income. We have also partnered with the Southern Philippines Adventist College in building a goat house! Aside from the farmers, working students will also get paid to help take care of the goats.
