GOD HAS A BIGGER PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. Isaiah 45:3 (KJV) In Genesis 28, Jacob had just manipulated matters to receive blessings from his father, Isaac, and was on the run from home because his brother, Esau, had vowed to kill him. Verses 12-15 tell us that he ran until he came to a place where he slept and had a dream. He saw a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. He saw the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And the Lord stood above the ladder and said that He would give the land to Jacobs seed and that his seed would be as the dust of the earth. Through them, families of the earth would be blessed. Genesis 28:16-17 reads: And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, how dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. (KJV) This scripture shows that the house of God provides access to the resources of heaven. And when I talk about the house of God, I do not simply mean a building but the Church. Here we have access to the resources and mysteries of the kingdom. We have access to the wisdom of God and we have the mind of Christ. All these things put us in a position to dominate our environment. In Genesis 28:18-22, Jacob realizes that he just had a supernatural experience and that God has greater aspirations for his life. God was offering Jacob the whole world but listen to what Jacob had to say. Putting it in todays English, he said,Lord just be with me. Give me some food to eat and clothes to wear and thats enough for me. This is called the survival mentality! And this same mentality is in the Church today. Despite Gods powerful investment in believers, what some are looking for is food to eat, clothes to wear, and a building to live in. That is not what Jesus died for. And thats why the Bible tells you to waste no thought for your life, what you will eat, or what you will wear because God has much bigger plans for your life. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (KJV). Today I declare that every good plan and purpose of God for your life shall be fulfilled in Jesuss name.
