GOD SAID IT, AND I BELIEVE IT How much faith do you have? Can it be measured? The Bible says that God has given EVERY man (and woman) a measure of faith, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (Romans 12:3 KJV). So if we all start with a measure of faith, how is it that some people seem to have more confidence in the words of God than others? And why do some discount even the existence of that same God? We are told that For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:. (Ephesians 2:8 KJV). And God tells us through the apostles, that we need to continue to grow in grace by getting to know Jesus even more, which will ultimately increase our faith... But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.. (2 Peter 3:18 KJV). If we dont take time to learn more of our Savior, to build that relationship with Him, we will be unstable in our faith, not knowing what to believe. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (Ephesians 4:13-14 KJV). The sweetest story of faith that I like to share has to do with my oldest grandchild. She and I were driving across country when she was about six years old. We had gotten to Spokane, Wa and it was dinner time, so I suggested we stop. She and I had a special restaurant that we usually ate at and she wanted to eat there, but I knew there wasnt one in Washington or the surrounding states, so I told her this. Her reply was, Ill pray and God will send one! We drove on, all the while, I am trying to figure out how to Tell her that this was impossible, when she had childlike faith believing God could do anything! We drove for hours and she insisted God would send this particular restaurant. Finally, about 10:30 pm, we saw a road sign for that restaurant! She said, See Grandma, I told you God would send it! We had traveled From Washington, through Idaho and into Montana; so we took the exit only to find the restaurant closed for the night! I thought her faith bubble would be burst but she said, thats ok, Grandma, we can eat breakfast there! But at least God sent it for us! And she was smiling Big and continuously, as we got a quick dinner through a drive-thru and checked into a hotel! If only our faith could be so strong as that of an innocent child! My Jeanne
