GOD SPEAKS AND EMPOWERS Acts 13:1 - 12 OVERVIEW Remember Saul’s conversion, baptism of the Holy Ghost, boldness in preaching Christ and the assistance of Barnabas in confirming the genuine calling of then Saul Acts 9:15, 19, 20, 26 & 27. Today it is not surprising as they praised and prayed with fasting Acts 13:1 & 2, God ordered the pairing of Saul (Paul) and Barnabas for the evangelical task. The heavenly seal (anointing) took Paul and Barnabas from Seleucia to Cyprus and at Salamis they daze the Jews with sound teachings while John Mark became one of their minister. The power of God with the gift of discernment in Paul cursed blindness on the false Prophet Bar-Jesus while the governor Sergius Paulus got his freedom and believed in the God of Apostle Paul Vs 6 - 12. “Acknowledge God in all thy ways and He will direct your path” Pro. 3:6, we should stop embarking on serious projects, ministry, academics and marriage life without God speaking and you sincerely obeying. As you get the clearance from God with powers, move ahead with faith to achieve success. You must desire the gift of discernment to differentiate and deal with the foul spirits/deceitful persons, especially the highly placed persons. Watch the friends/distractions around you to learn, receive and dwell in Jesus. Trouble awaits false prophets who deceive God’s people. TONIC POINT (1) God speaks in a sincere praise and prayer session Vs 1 - 3. (2) Seek Christ, but beware of distractions/distractors Vs 7 & 12. (3) Obey, with anointing to succeed Vs 4, 5 & 8 - 11. FOCUS OF THE DAY What or whom you love might be your obstacle to Christ. PRAYER POINT Pray against every distraction against your knowing Jesus/success.
