Heaven by Emeli Sande is playing Just as the prophets of the Old Testament once heard "the voice of the LORD" and spoke "the word of the LORD" to the people, God has called a certain people today to speak for Him. Sometimes God will use a message or sermon anointed by the Holy Spirit to bring needed light when you are facing a difficult decision (Isaiah 6:8-10; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5). The same cautions that were mentioned above in seeking advice from mature Christians also must be used in confirming counsel from servants in the ministry. Scripture does not indicate that a pastor, chruch leaders, or spiritual leaders have perogative to dictate to those under them in personal decisions, especially in regard to marriage. Seek the counsel of those whom God has placed in authority over you, but seek the LORD first. Once again, counsel from servants in the ministry should confirm the direction God has given you, not necessarily give you an entirely new direction.
