GOG SHOULD FOLLOW THIS INITIATIVE FOR STV AT LEAST Saturday, January 10, 2015 Vat on aviation fuel slashed at 2 UP airports Lucknow: Days after the centre scrapped the international airport at Agra, the UP government pitched in the for the existing airport at Agra by giving a sop of significant deduction in VAT on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from 21% to 4%. The state government extended the sop for Varanasi airport as well saying that it would it would lead to increase in the number of flights. Director General, Tourism, Amrit Abhijat said that the sop will be applicable to charter as well as schedule flights. ``The two cities happen to hold enormous potential as far as tourism was concerned, he said and added that aircraft fuelling at the two airport will get ATF at a lesser cost given the sharp reduction in the VAT. ``The government order to this effect has already been issued, Abhijat said.
