GOLDEN CORRAL FREE VETERANS DINNER was tonight. The Place was packed with the line going out the door but the whole thing ran very something. Normally I am not a BIG golden corral fan but they do this every year so as a Veteran I go. It is so special so wonderful to see Citizens soliders active retired and veterans in the same room talking swapping stories .. shaking hands the warmth... the look of shared secret experiences that only vets & active duty men / woman know about. Persian Gulf 1 PG 2 Vietnam Korea... but it was and is very moving to see WW2 vets. Every day we lose 8000 of these heroes. Even as I type this I have to pause so I dont burst out in tears. Truth to be told ALL of us ... EVERYONE one of US in the USA (and the world) in 2014 -- we are not even equal to their belly button Lint of WW2 veterans. I am shit compared to them. I sit in my big home in a good neighborhood at my fancy computer and I stunned by where my thoughts were just 5 hours ago.. The eagles loss. The Holidays coming up. Who the GOP nominee might be in 2016. Pissant inconsequential crap. These men charged machine guns nests... fought against superior German tanks... defeat the blitzkreig at Moscow and Stalingrad. That is courage that you simply cannot comprehend or understand. I am shit compared to them. I owe them everything and I am at a Loss about to repay them.
