GONE GIRL This is one movie that left me driving in silence and in complete awe! From beginning to end, this film keeps you in suspense trying to figure out what the heck is really going on! Let me just say that I tip my hat to the Gillian Fynn, writer, and David Fincher, director for this great thriller! Ben Affleck (Nick) delivers a stupendous acting. Rosamund Pike (Amy) is superb! You can love or hate both characters, but the underlining truth is that love is not what appears to be. I do not wish to write a lot about the film because I tend to say more than I should, but it is freaking unbelievable! This psychotic relationship delivers intensity and an almost surreal life that reminds me a lot of What Lies Beneath with Michelle Pfeiffer (with the exception of the ghost and a better twist). I loved that movie when it came out! Im almost speechless (wordless for the purpose of this review) about what to say without killing the plot for everyone. An advice to everyone in love: Do not fall in love with anyone majoring in the arts (especially writers) because they/we can be vengeful and conniving! We can take words and twist them when someone does us wrong. LOL. We can make up stories in order to frame, hurt, intimidate, and hide truths even from our lovers for our own pleasure and convenience. MY RECOMMENDATION: MUST, MUST, MUST watch! This is clearly not an Oscars movie, but it has really great elements that deliver that punch you are not expecting and layer after layer of sympathy and hatred -among other emotions. 9 out of 10
