GOOD MANNERS are not just a Southern Thing........I love the words Thank You and Please........Something about those words simply show class to me.......I also love to see others do small favors such as hold a door open for someone.....or perhaps lend a helping hand to someone in need......Yes Good Manners reflects who a person is.....Bad manners also reflects who a person is..... Southern people tend to be pretty friendly..& most seem to have good manners. I am Southern & I do notice manners. Good manners can be found everywhere...unfortunately they are not found in everyone.... I notice manners right away...from someone who doesnt hold a door open for someone to someone not saying Hi or Thank you after you spoke to them or a kind gesture was extended to them or their family member,.............To me those types of people lack an important ingredient to great character...I simply love good manners and I try to show good manners to everyone.. I always offer someone something to eat or drink, and try to make them feel comfortable when they come to my home. I hold doors open for the person behind me , I let people pull out and am willing to wait in parking lots. I also wave & say Thank you. for anyone who has done me a favor...as well as stand in my doorway or driveway when someone comes to visit, & wait until they are in their car or pulled out before going back in...Simply a way of showing good manners & warmth. Yes, manners are not just a Southern thing.....Good manners are an everywhere thing with people who have great CHARACTER!!..............Show me a person with good manners & I will show you someone who had a great mother or dad in their life............Good manners start at home & work outwards..
