GOOD MORNING EARLY RISERS!!! Happy Morning After Christmas!!! I have to go to work today, and I just know that its going to be busy again. However, Christmas Eve was very busy...everyone getting that last minute cash for gifts. Social Security checks came in on the fourth Wednesday of the week, and people with direct deposit come and take out all but $10, and then call the rest of the month to see how much is in their account. Im really serious....Im not kidding about that!! I get a little tickled when I answer the phone for the same call three times in one week! I begin to recognize their voice and way of asking. Me: Do you have your account number? Caller: No, but I know my social security number by heart. Why is it always by heart that they know their number? Does your heart have a brain? Of course it would sound funny to say that you know it by brain, I suppose!! People have always used that expression for many things that they have memorized. I love the people that have that account number memorized, by heart!! hahahaha!!! Thats my funny for this morning! We had two invitations for lupper yesterday. What is lupper? Its a late lunch, early supper combined. I realize that dinner has replaced the word supper, but linner just doesnt sound right, so Lenny coined the word lupper for meals like that. We could have gone to Dales mothers house, where we would have had traditional food, but we chose to stay closer to home and just take the gator over across the creek to Phillip and Paula Balangas home. They put on such good feeds and they do feed a multitude of people!!! I had gotten full on the appetizers, and then Phillip fixed me a plate of enchiladas, Mexican casserole, beans (that we took over) and guacamole. Paula and Ginger Buckley, her daughter, do prepare some good food. The guacamole was especially good. It was so pure, and not doctored with a lot of other stuff. It tasted like avocados. Lenny made himself two plates of nachos, using Marge Balangas wonderful cheese dip, some tomatoes, lettuce and jalapeno peppers. I sneaked a couple, and once, I got a pretty hot pepper!! Marge makes her cheese dip with regular Velveeta, Mexican Velveeta, Rotel tomatoes, and cream cheese. She added a little carnation milk to thin it just a bit. She also puts a pound of ground beef and a pound of sausage in the dip. When I tell you it was good, Im not lying. I loved the enchiladas, too. I just had a super afternoon at our wonderful Balanga family Christmas. Before we left, Phillip and Paula gave us gifts. I got a couple of infinity scarves. One is purple and the other has shades of purple in a beautiful print, and I got dish towels. Lenny got a gift, but I dont even know what it was. I was busy admiring my own gift. We also got a gift from Jim and his wife, Bernice Gasiewicz. It was summer sausage, cheese, etc. A very nice gift box it is. I felt pretty bad that we didnt get gifts, but since were the old couple down the road, I suppose that they feel that we need some extra loving, and we do. And we are very grateful for our friends. And last, but not least, we had early Santa Clause and Mrs. Santa Clause at our door at 8:30 AM, just as I was waking up!! Bill and Marge Balanga came knocking on the door bearing gifts! We got a beautiful box of chocolates! Even at that early hour, Marge and I proceeded to have a sample!! They are as good as they look. Oh, and Ginger Buckley had even baked cookies and put them in little Christmas bags for everyone. Thats what Len had for his dinner. I ate a couple of them, and they were a soft cookie with a lemon flavor. They were excellent. Whew!! I had a lot of Christmas to talk about!! I just hope that yours was as merry and bright as ours was! It wouldnt have been like that if not for our family and friends. We are so blessed to have all of the family that we have! We love every one of them, and we were so blessed to see everyone on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I love this time of the year when we get to visit with everyone. And now, it back to work with my bad self!!! Ill just have my normal sandwich for lunch today. No more Christmas food for me!!! Im done....just poke me with a fork!! Have a wonderful day, and let me hear about your Christmas! I read every post that you put under all of this mess!!! Thanks for reading to the very end!!! hahaha Chatty, over and out!! :)
