GOOD MORNING MURFREESBORO! HOT AND HUMID INTO NEXT WEEK Today offers a warm and muggy morning with some patchy fog early and haze then plenty of sunshine. That lifts temperatures into the low 90s by midday with heat indices (what it feels like) near 105 through the afternoon. A string of days in the mid-to-upper 90s impacts Middle Tennessee through the weekend. A big ridge of hot high pressure will build in from the south and west to give us the hottest weather of the summer. This pattern may last into at least early next week. There will be just enough low-level relative humidity under the ridge to warrant a 10% afternoon pop-up storm chance through the weekend. Most of the time, however, it will be dry. Drink plenty of fluids, preferably water, to combat the heat. Take frequent breaks if your job has you outside from mid-morning through late afternoon.
