GOOD MORNING TO YOU FROM WWW.SOUTHERNCONNECTIUCTWEATHER.COM! Yes, you read that right! Southern Connecticut Weather today launches a completely new user experience by releasing a cutting edge website which brings our content to you on a whole new level. Were also releasing our 2014-2015 winter forecast as the first ever post on our new site! For our mobile users, we are also in the early stages of developing a Southern Connecticut Weather app, but for now, we have developed a mobile site which optimizes seamlessly to your phone while still providing you the same great content. You can read more about the features of the site on our home page, which is where youll land when you go to the site using southernconnecticutweather Were also releasing our 2014 winter forecast today, a summary of which can be found on the graphic accompanying this post and the detailed discussion on our website at southernconnecticutweather/forecasters-discussion/the-2014-2015-southern-connecticut-weather-winter-forecast. Check it out, its a fantastically detailed read that analyzes five main components of predicting winter weather to come up with a detailed discussion of the expected forecast. Reading through the feedback from your responses to our survey, we noticed that the most common theme was that people loved our discussions, but they could sometimes be a little long when youre just trying to get information. As a result, weve launched a graphical forecast section of the website, which will display graphics which are quick and easy to read, whether that be a general 7 day forecast or a graphic about an upcoming event similar to the one that was posted last night for rainfall this weekend. Additionally, well have a two day quick forecast at the top of every page, updated daily, so check that out if youre on the run. We also got a bunch of responses asking for a mobile app, and that is in development, but weve been focusing on getting the website off the ground, and now will start to turn our attention more towards the app. For now though, weve designed our mobile website to be a functional, easy to use option for those of you on the go, while still providing the same great content. We hear you loud and clear that you want an app, and we are going to make that happen as soon as we are able. As of now, we will continue to post on Facebook at least daily during the winter season, although the posts will often become introductions with a link to the corresponding post on our site to continue reading the discussion. We will continue to maintain a presence here throughout the winter, and then reevaluate after that based on reader feedback, reactions to the site, and more, and you, the readers, will be an active part of that process. Looking back on the last two years, its incredible how much this page has grown, and we owe it all to you, our readers. Today is a great day for us and for Connecticut Weather as a whole, and we owe it all to you, our wonderful readers. We cannot thank you enough for all your support. We do have one simple request, which is that you click share at the bottom of this post to help spread the word to as many people as possible. One of the reasons that were transitioning to a website is that Facebook charges us exorbitantly high ad rates to show our content to all our followers, and you sharing that content gets it to reach further for no cost to us. Given that we operate on a shoestring budget, you sharing our posts is what allows us to grow and attract new readers, which in turn leads to more that we can do with the page and now site. We thank you in advance for your help, and do truly appreciate it. Again, thank you, and welcome to SCW 2.0! Were really excited to have you onboard. -Timothy Wrightington Jr(TW), and Spencer Aronstein(SA), co-owners, Southern Connecticut Weather.
