GOOD MORNING WORLD! One year ago today my beloved wife was beginning to tear through the house like a Tazmanian Devil. One of Kristen Goguens friends was coming in that night for a week long visit. Didnt matter that the house was in its normal state of clean. So when I returned from Middletown after taking Kristen to work, I pulled out a spontaneous card and informed Kat she had an hour to do whatever she wanted or needed to do, but at the end of that hour, we were heading to the beach on our scooters. We left for the beach, with a beach umbrella and two camping chairs strapped to the scooters. By the time we got to Lewes, the traffic was jammed up, so we headed to Cape Henlopen State Park, and set up on that beach. It was so relaxing, sitting there reading and dozing that we never even went into the water. Jennifer Queen and boys arrived a few hours later and took over our spot, umbrella and chairs included, and we left so I could pick Kristen up from work then head to Baltimore to pick up her friend. That was the last visit we made to the beach together. I will be forever grateful I was inspired to play the spontaneous card. One of the reasons we bought the scooters was to go to the beach and not have to worry about traffic and parking. Even though the main parking lots were full at the Cape, we parked the scooters at the bottom of the boardwalk leading up to the bathhouse and beach. That day will forever remain a treasured memory. Today we make another memory as we all head to Trap Pond State Park for a camp out, then over to Jungle Jims tomorrow. A memory not to replace but to counterbalance and to stand beside that memory from a year ago. Take the time today to build new memories and treasure old ones. Find a way to honor those you have lost by living life to its fullest. Our loved ones would not wish us to suffer. I know for a fact Kat wants me to move forward and LIVE. A dear friend of mine uses the epitaph carry on to close her FB posts. That is exactly what those we have list would want us to do, so FB friends, CARRY ON!
