Good thing, you won’t have to deal anymore with my past and the number of exes I had and how you’ve always seen me as someone who doesn’t love you enough to look for another man if you’re not around. Good thing, you won’t have to remind me anymore of cutting down my meal; for you will disapprove once I put on another pound. Good thing, you don’t have to worry about having fat kids anymore just in case they inherit my genes. Good thing, you won’t have to be in a relationship any longer with a person you consider a failure—somebody who doesn’t have an ambition. I’m sorry if I wanted to be a housewife and I dreamed of taking care of you forever. Good thing, you won’t have to be mad anymore because I showed up at your gate, surprised you and brought you food. “Don’t come if I didn’t invite you,” you screamed. Good thing, you won’t have to grow furious anymore after I waited for you in the mall for 5 hours, because you were supposed to meet me but you never answered my calls while I stayed at the same spot I told you, not moving for that’s where I said I was. Good thing, you are actually brave enough to defy the proverb you’ve always told me—that what you sow, you will reap. You are actually bold enough to dare your unfaithfulness. Good thing, you won’t have to stay any longer with her inside the house the whole morning and hide from me, because I was outside your house the whole morning too. Good thing that I saw your photo together. I saw how she held you and how you smiled. I saw how my dreams shattered while you held yours in your arms. I saw how clearly you showed the world that you were never proud of me, because I was never the girl you dreamed of having, first and foremost. Good thing, I am still here and I found my way back home, because after what I had, what I heard, and what I felt, I decided to not settle for less… But guess what?
