GOOD morning my friends, sad news i am afraid, i spoke to the lady called Katrina from the South West great British Care awards of which, as you know, i have been nominated. They have asked me to go to Bristol next Wednesday to meet the judge`s(No problem there) then they dropped the bombshell we would have to pay £875.00 PER TABLE!! (Please see below) to attend. We are absolutely shell shocked !! I dont know anybody who can afford to spend £87.50 each on a night out that doesnt even include the petrol expenses and an overnight stay as it would be far to late to travel all the way back to Torbay!! We have informed them of this and they very kindly said they MIGHT be able to make an exception just for us two, but there is no way on this EARTH we would sit at someone else s table like the poor relations, Just not going to happen !! It begs the question of how this can be a carers awards and yet charge so much when so many carers are on minimum wages !!!! You know me my friends, i dont do politics LOLL but this has just thrown us.
