GOODNEWS TODAY-by-Prince Ubi - DAILY BIBLE STUDY: GENESIS 11 FOCAL SCRIPTURE: Genesis 11:5-6 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. In our portion today is the story of how men decided to build a tower that reaches the heaven. According to God, the reason why they almost succeeded was because they had a unity of purposed: they spoke the same language, meaning that they didnt speak everyone his own, they all decided together and everyone got involved. Hardly do you see any family, organization, church like this now a days. This virtue though, towards and evil intension was so commendable by God that it had to take the Godhead to stop this act of man. Psalms 133:1-3 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aarons beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Some brethren think they are doing the will of God if they are always in disagreement against family or Spiritual authority. Its quite a Sympathetic situation to see how the devil uses people today to disunite the body of Christ, incite brethren and cause confusion in the body of Christ, only to go and boast that they have done the will of God. There are certain assignments today I pray that the Lord should not use me for because there are not rewarding. Which reward will one get to go into a church and oppose what the authority does and then move to join another? Or maybe, be the one that is causing concussion in your family? I discover that most times these people always think that they are doing the will of God whenever they are in opposition. They may argue to defend themselves, but which ever way its wrong. Especially, in the church, its Gods responsibility to stop whatever is wrong and not man. Uzzah put his hand to correct the ark and he died, a young man took it upon himself to stand against king David, though the king had sin but the young man didnt end well. God doesnt want you to do his work for Him. If you are not in agreement with a spiritual authority just keep silent and leave. Many families today are suffering because of this act of disuniting the body of Christ. Please let us not play politics in the body of Christ, the reason why you are so much in disagreement with the way things are done in that church is because your time there is over. Prayerfully look for a new place that you will feel comfortable to discharge your duties for God. DECLARATION: Precious Lord; I pray that you use me for things that brings glory to your name And reward to my life. I refuse the devil to use me and oppose spiritual authority I decree that wherever Im involved, there shall be unity In the name of Jesus, Amen.
