GOP Rep. Gowdy Blasts National Parks Director for Favoring ‘Pot-Smoking’ Occupiers Over ‘Veterans’ (Video) Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, October 17, 2013, 8:43 AM Awesome! Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) blasted National Parks Service director Jonathan Jarvis over the closing of several Washington, D.C. monuments during the government shutdown while allowing pot-smoking Occupiers to camp out at McPherson Square for 100 days. youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=U1T1zcLRtbI Mediaite reported: Contrasting the parks service’s decision to allow in 2011 the Occupy Wall Street movement a one-hundred-day-long encampment in D.C.’s McPherson Square with the turning away of visitors to the National Mall this October, Gowdy scolded Jarvis for favoring the “pot-smoking” Occupiers over the “war veterans” who “helped build” the monuments. The South Carolinian lawmaker repeatedly pressed Jarvis to cite a regulation for why he’d erected barricades and turned away veterans from war monuments on the first day of shutdown. For the record… The US government has been shut down several times in the past. This was not the first time the government has been shutdown. What made this shutdown different was that Barack Obama spent taxpayer dollars to erect barricades at open air national monuments and at national parks to keep Americans and US veterans out. - See more at: thegatewaypundit/#sthash.QhbStSKS.dpuf
