GOSHEN WATER UTILITY CONTINUES THE SYSTEM-WIDE FREEZE WARNING. Due - TopicsExpress

GOSHEN WATER UTILITY CONTINUES THE SYSTEM-WIDE FREEZE WARNING. Due to the extreme winter weather and constant cold, Goshen’s Water Utility customers continue to experience frozen Water Services. However, a lessening in the number of breaks has been seen since customers began following Freeze Warning suggestions. Because running water is less likely to freeze, it is recommended that all Water Utility customers leave their water run, at a single cold-water faucet, located inside their home or business. The water should be run in a small stream the size of a pencil lead. Customers who leave their water running as a preventative measure must contact the Utility Business Office at (574) 533.9399 to receive a billing adjustment from the date the Utility Business Office is contacted, until the final day of the Freeze Warning; if you have made an initial call to indicate your participation, please do not contact the Office again. The account credit will relieve customers of the responsibility for the increased usage during the Warning period. The Goshen Water Utility regularly monitors the frost line depth and will notify utility customers, when the Freeze Warning is cancelled and it is safe to discontinue the running of their stream of water, via local media, at Facebook and goshenindiana. Customers who experience loss of water service, or a slower than normal water flow, due to a suspected frozen water line are asked to contact the Water Utility Maintenance Department at (574) 534.5306, 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
