GOSSIP IN THE CHURCH By Daniel Robert Evans Note that exposing false prophets and teachers is NOT Gossip but is exposing evil as we are commanded to do. Leviticus 19:16 (KJV) 16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord. The very first time I was rebuked from the Lord was when I was in Church as a new Born Again Christian and was about to get involved in some Gossip. Instantly I heard the Lord say very clearly to me Read Leviticus 19:16. I was excited to hear a word from the Lord and went very quickly and got my Bible and read it. Although it was not what I was expecting to see i was over joyed that the Lord corrected me because I heard His voice and also because I knew i belonged to Him because the Lord corrects those who are His Children. I ran to my Pastor and told him the Lord rebuked me , the Lord Rebuked me I told him what had happened and I was so full of Joy and zeal for the Lord and all the ways of the Lord that the pastor was astonished that I was so happy to be corrected. What an amazing God we have who Loves us so much that he corrects us because he sees that our actions hurt ourselves and others by being childish towards one another. Lets therefore make sure to listen to the Lord when he corrects us so that we may not hurt others and ourselves and in doing so that we may be made more like Jesus Christ who we are in and He in us if we walk in the Light of Truth and Love. More people are deeply hurt by Gossip then we can ever imagine. Its a great sin in the eyes of the Lord when we spread rumors about others wither they be true or not. The Lord is very serious about this very subject, so if you see it being stated in both Old and New Testaments then its IMPORTAND to God and should be with us.
