GOV. ESPINO LEADS US BIZ EXPO LINGAYEN --- Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. and Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. will lead the Pangasinan delegation to the U.S. Business Exposition in Artesia, California in October. They will be joined by Board Members Nestor Reyes, Generoso Tulagan, Jr. and Raul Sison, Sangguninang Panlalawigan Secretary Verna Perez, Tourism Operations Division Chief Malu Elduayan, Office of the Vice Governor Staff Darwina Sampang and some trade exhibitors. Dubbed “Diversity Business Exposition,” Pangasinan-made goods and products that include bamboo craft, furniture, bagoong and salted fish, fashion accessories, handicrafts, peanut brittles, among others, will be viewed by more than 30,000 US buyers including importers and wholesalers from October 3-4. The delegation will seize the opportunity to promote tourism and investment programs of the province and touch base with Pangasinan Associations in California for project tie-up on the various programs and projects of the Espino Administration. The elective officials and the Pangasinan exhibitors will shoulder their own plane fares and other expenses. While abroad for seven working days from October 1, Governor Espino has entrusted the office of the province to Provincial Administrator Rafael Howard F. Baraan. Vice Gov. Calimlim, on the other hand, has designated, through Executive Order No. 03-2014, Senior SP Member Napoleon C. Fontelera, Jr. as Acting Vice Governor from September 29-30, 2014 and SP Member Danilo Uy from October 1-9, 2014. The Pangasinan’s participation in the first-ever Exposition to be held in Southern California was arranged by Pangasinan-USA Brotherhood Association president Eddie Ferrer who hails from San Carlos City, in partnership with the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of South East Los Angeles (FACC-SEC) based in California led by Felix B. Lopez, a Dagupeno. Apart from the Philippines, 30 other developing countries that include, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, among others, will join the expo. /PIO
