It is a thing of joy to Know that Current administration led by Governor Henry Seriake Dickson in just two years in office has achieved a remarkable level of development in the transport Sector especially in road and Water transportation Despite the foot that more than 80% of Bayelsa State lies below sea level, thereby making road construction a very tedious, cumbersome and expensive task, since roads under construction has to be properly sand filled, the Gov Henry Seriake led administration never relented rather all efforts were made to bring this great vision to reality. lt is quite remarkable that in less than three years in office a lot has been achieved in the transport Sector, ln Bayelsa today, the indigenes enjoy a high level of comfort because so many roads have being dualized for example Opolo-Elebele Road, etc . also to facilitates the business and daily activities of indigenes, the government led by Governor Henry Sariake Dickson eliminated the use of bikes popularly Known as OKADA as a mode of transport and replace them with KEKENAPEP, the government also flooded the state with a large number of taxis called restoration cabs aimed at reducing road transport stress, hazards and also creating job opportunity for indigenes of the state. The current administration led by Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has also achieved immeasurable level of success in water transportation, as well, 15 numbers of armoured boats were distributed to enable them secure the waterways. The government has also started construction of an international standard airport, which is so far 50% completed and this fact has brought so much accolades to both the government and its people. The Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson led administration has received unprecedented public support which can be found in the story of the road that is being built to Nembe. In the past when the previous governor was approached by Nembe chiefs on the Subject of that vital link, they were told categorically that it was economically impossible to build it, but in a short time. Since Governor Dickson took charge the road has almost be completed and now the people of the once remote but economically vital Nembe community can drive straight to their homes.
