GOVERNMENT TO BEEF UP SECURITY MACHINERY Government says it is in the process of intensifying security systems in the country following a series of crimes in some parts of the country. Minister of Home Affairs, Paul Chibingu made the remarks on Tuesday in Lilongwe during a press briefing. Accompanied by the Inspector General of Police Lot Dzonzi, the minister expressed concern over spate of crimes citing the death of Susan Muhile a Rwandese national who was brutally murdered in the wee hours of June 25 at her house in Chigumula in Blantyre. He said in view of the incidents, his ministry and the police have established a joint investigation team from Blantyre and Limbe to intensify investigations into the cases and bring the culprits to book. “So far we have arrested one suspect and we strongly believe that this arrest will lead us into further arrests,” said Chibingu.
