GRACE AND EVANGELISM Ero Jonathan Efosa How shall we ESCAPED, if we neglect so GREAT SALVATION … -Heb.2:3 When I say to the WICKED, thou shall surely die; and thou GIVE him NOT WARNING, nor SPEAK to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to SAVE his LIFE; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. …. If thou WARN the wicked ….but thou hast DELIVERED THY SOUL. -Ezek.3:18, 19 Come to think of these, we have escaped by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus that was shared on the cross of Calvary. It is not of works that any man should boast but by the grace of God. What a beautiful thing to have escaped the terror of God that is to come upon the children of disobedient. Is it enough to have escaped and rejoice by saying, thank God I am saved? Have we forgotten about the terror of God to the unsaved? (2 Corin.5:11) and also to the saved that neglect his/her responsibility of bringing in the unsaved to the kingdom of God? (Ezek.3:18, 19) The message of grace is a beautiful one but we must not over look the truth, that we have received grace to reach others with the words of reconciliation (2Corin.5:19). Reconciling the world back to God. We must always have this in our sub-conscious mind that God is also the creator of the unsaved and it is not His desire that any should perish. The rich man said, I have “five brothers” on earth, send someone from the dead to reach out to them (Luke16:27, 28). “Five” signifies “Grace”. Grace always seeks for the salvation of the “lost soul” not after earthly possession. What is really our heart cry? The rich man said, “but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent” (Luke 16:30). Have we not been rising from the dead with Christ Jesus? The rich man reveals a deep truth here, they are meant to hear us but the truth of the matter is that most of us are not saying anything to them. We might have been saved but we are ensnare in the trap of not saying anything to the lost soul knowing full well that we have the WORD OF RECONCILIATION. Be of good courage!
