GRAND-KIDS Mom and Dad had nine grand-kids. Mom and Dad’s grand-kids were a real joy and a major part of their lives. My wife, Doris (Yeske-Krage) and I were married in 1954. We had two beautiful daughters, Karmen and Kristi. Karmen was the oldest grand-daughter. Karmen stayed with them while I went to college at Northern State in Aberdeen SD. Karmen and Grandma Krage became big buddies, a friendship that continued until Mom died in 1996. Kristi, eleven years younger than Karmen and our youngest daughter didnt have that opportunity, since we lived in Wisconsin when she was born and after. But whenever we were back to Columbia for visits, she was Grandma’s and Grandpa’s girl. Orville, (Pudge) and his wife, Janice (Howell) both worked for South Dakota Employment Service for thirty years. Pudge and Janice married in 1959 and lived in Aberdeen with their two sons’ boys, Mark and Kevin. Kevin had the closest relationship his grandma Anne and Grandpa Krage, and frequently stayed with them during the summer. Kevin, like his Dad and Grandpa Krage is avid fisherman and hunter. Kevin now works for Lexis Company in Madison, Wisconsin. Carol and her husband Jerry’s (Reed) were married in 1961 and they live on a farm west of Aberdeen. Carol has her own Insurance business through Farm Bureau. Their sons, Tim, Barry and John were most fortunate to be able to spend quality time with their grandparents as they lived near Columbia as children. Tim, Barry and John were also able to spent time with Dad hunting around Columbia and Sand Lake and their grandparents at Roy Lake where Dad and Mom had a cabin. Tim is one of the top Trap Shooter in the U.S. and is a farmer and trapper. Barry is an heavy equipment operator. John is known as one of the best champion fisherman in SD, He does construction work. Bob was married to Pam Mehl in 1974 and they have two children, Lisa and Daniel. Lisa, Bob’s daughter practically lived her grandma Anna for a number of years while Bob was working for South Dakota State Employment Service in Aberdeen and even though they lived in a farm house outside of Columbia. Mom and Lisa were very close. Mom and Dad had a major impact on Lisa’s life. Bob’s son Danny spent time with her during the summer, when he wasnt in school in Bookings, SD.
