GRANDWOOD PARK PARK DISTRICT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY CURRENTLY RECRUITING General Manager Part-time Hourly Position Hiring Salary Range: $20.00 – 25.00 Location: Gurnee, Illinois Application deadline: Open until filled SUMMARY: The General Manager performs a variety of diverse administrative functions in the creation and maintenance of financial records as well as managing the day to day operations of the park district including but not limited to the procurement of goods and services, rental operations, staffing of office, payroll, and marketing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for supporting the five member Board of Commissioners, bookkeeping, including but not limited to filing taxes, levies and ordinances as required by law. Managing park district staff and payroll, risk management, identify, write and submit grant applications, obtain and supply information requested under the Freedom of Information Act. Develop partnerships with local businesses and government entities. EXPERIENCE: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Park and Recreation, Public Administration or related field. Minimum of three years of administrative experience in the park and recreation field. A successful candidate will have knowledge of public parks and recreation operations and park district finance. The candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks, and Pro Accounting Software. Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
