GRATITUDE FOR MY MOTHER As this is Thanksgiving week, I am musing over all the things and people that I am most grateful for. The first person that I would like to offer thanks is my to my Mother, who has offered her unconditional love selflessly my entire life. I will be eternally grateful for her undying love, her deepest caring and her ever concern for my well-being and happiness. The enormity of her love continues to flood over me in unending waves. She is the great giving Nurturer, the nourishing Goddess who heals and shelters in comfort. Now as she approaches the sunset of her years and her life-force is slowly ebbing away, and the loss of memory escapes her through the dementia that now plagues her-- the tides have now turned. She is frail-- her body is aged and feeble and she is debilitated by the hand of time that eventually claims us all, I am now the daughter who gives her strength, provides get with comfort. When I walk into her room, it moves me to years to see her face light up with the innocence of a child in pure delight to see me--and I am heart- warmed and at peace. Please give love as we offer the deepest of gratitude and pay homage to the woman/goddess who gave us life--I will remain indebted to her forever...A mothers true love never dies!
