GREAT ACHIEVEMENT NEEDS GREAT FAITH A while ago, I was privileged to be in South Africa. It was a very enlightening experience for me in many ways. One very significant way was the realisation that FAITH was FOUNDATIONAL to any ACHIEVEMENT. It got me to finally open THE NEW ENCOURAGER PAGE! I observed something that I considered very interesting; all the Rand denominations bear the regal face of NELSON MANDELA! From Ten Rand to Two Hundred Rand, the face of MANDELA stared at you, COMPELLING YOU to HAVE FAITH! I was also able to visit the NELSON MANDELA SQUARE in Sandton, an upscale area in Johannesburg. I posed under the imposing statue of MANDELA and I was greatly inspired! This square was the exclusive preserve of whites in the days of apartheid, but now, the REGAL STATUE OF A BLACK MAN stands in absolute splendour, a MONUMENT TO THE POWER OF FAITH. GREAT FAITH breeds COMMITMENT which in turn breeds PERSISTENCE; an unwavering DECISION to KEEP STRIVING until the DREAM IS ACHIEVED. NELSON MANDELA had a DREAM; that indigenous black South Africans would be free! His FAITH IN HIS DREAM made him so COMMITTED that twenty seven years in prison, with hard labour, could not kill the DREAM. Even though the apartheid regimes had the authority and resources of government at their disposal and they used them to fight him, he PERSISTED. He had so much FAITH IN HIS DREAM that he was either going to ACHIEVE IT or DIE TRYING! What dream(s) do you have? Do you BELIEVE in YOUR DREAM? Are you COMMITTED to your dream? Are you willing to PAY ANY PRICE to ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM? Will you PERSIST in the pursuit of your dream even in the face of overwhelming obstacles? If you can CONFIDENTLY ANSWER YES to the above questions, then you have GREAT FAITH and you are on track for GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS! And as we CELEBRATE MANDELA AT NINETY FIVE, the world would one day CELEBRATE YOU!
