GREAT NEWS - Some of you have been asking if a kidney donor had been found for Steve Houmes, owner of Silver City Restaurant in Silverdale. I am happy to report that a donor was found. The following was just reported in the Silver City Restaurant and Ale House Newsletter: Steves donor is Glen Melin, a local resident in our community. A father of three children and married to a wonderfully supportive wife Jane, Glen said he just felt like this was something he needed to do. Forever grateful does not even come close to expressing how we feel about what Glen has done for Steve. His excellent health has been shared with another as Steve is already more energetic, back to teasing his daughters, and receiving great reports from his doctors. Glen is also doing well which we are very thankful for. Steve is eager to get back to Silver City. Please keep in mind that he is on medications that suppress his immune system and the first four months are the most critical time for the new kidney to be accepted by his body. He has been advised to not shake hands or be in crowded areas and certainly to avoid people who are sick. So, if you see if him, help keep him healthy.
