GREAT NEWS: On Wednesday July 9th, Officers Rossoll #2151 and Lascko #1854 of Zone Car 2A11, with the assistance of Officers McLain #2136 and Walsh #1271 of Zone Car 2B15, and Officer Ramoga #3 of Community Services Unit car 2G15, arrested a 39 year old male and a 49 year old male, both of Cleveland, for BURGLARY, THEFT and POSSESSION OF CRIMINAL TOOLS. The officers received a radio broadcast of a burglary in progress on the 5700 block of Franklin Blvd. and were given updates on the status of the crime from police radio while en route. As they arrived on scene they were informed by witnesses that the suspects had just fled the scene. Thanks to the detailed description of the suspects and their vehicle given to the officers by witnesses on scene, the officers were able to quickly locate and stop the suspect vehicle, arrest the suspects, and recover property stolen from the home. During a subsequent search of one of the suspects, he was found to be in possession of a crack pipe, on which officers observed suspected cocaine residue. In addition to the burglary related charges, he will face drug charges as well. This is an excellent example of how an engaged citizenry, looking out for their neighbors, can assist Second District officers in combating crime in our neighborhoods. Thank you to the citizens that got involved and a hearty “job well done!” to the officers who responded. (Note: the names of the arrested suspects cannot be released until they are indicted and in the court system).
