GREAT NEWS! Seven Powerhouse Green Candidates Poised For Breakthroughs! Inbox x Jill Stein and the Green Party of the United States via mail.salsalabs.net 9:04 AM (4 hours ago) to me Dear Friend, The time has never been better for a Green breakthrough! Please take a quick look at these seven high powered, inspirational Green campaigns across the country. You can give all of them the boost they need with a single click of your mouse by making a contribution today to the Green Party campaign fund. As you know, America is at the breaking point. Recent polls have shown 60% of Americans want a new political party! Approval ratings for Democrats and Republicans have dropped to new all-time lows of 39% and 33% respectively. Its no wonder, with the continuing pain of a low wage economy, a climate in meltdown, privatization of schools and health care, paralyzing student debt, mass incarceration and immigrant deportations, police brutality and militarization, civil liberties under attack, predatory free trade, war profiteering, chaos in the Middle East, and more. While the political establishment squanders trillions on wars, Wall Street bailouts, and tax handouts to the wealthy these grassroots Greens are pioneering critical policies for priorities like strong local schools, municipal utilities, public banks, and support for small businesses and worker cooperatives. They call for millions of jobs to achieve 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, Medicare for All, and requiring the wealthy few to pay their fair share of taxes. By offering the solutions we need in our communities, these trailblazers are standing up for Americans being thrown under the bus everywhere by politics as usual. In growing numbers, everyday people are throwing off the chains of the corporate parties. They just need to hear about the Green candidates running on their behalf. Your donation will help get the word out to the voters clamoring for what these candidates represent. With your help, all of these candidates have the potential to break through, and change the political landscape on behalf of people, planet, peace and the future we deserve! By donating here, now, you will support all of these candidates at the most critical final leg of their fight - which is our fight. Together were unstoppable. Many thanks, Jill Stein Howie Hawkins and Brian Jones - Governor and Lt. Governor, NY Howie Hawkins has been an organizer in movements for peace, justice, labor and the environment since 1967. As the New York Green Partys candidate for Governor in 2010, he campaigned for progressive taxes and revenue sharing as the alternative to Andrew Cuomos cuts to schools, cities, and public services. He received nearly 60,000 votes, which gave the Green Party a ballot line statewide for the next four years. Hawkins came in third out of seven gubernatorial candidates on the 2010 ballot. Brian Jones is an educator, actor, and socialist in New York City. For nine years he taught elementary grades in New York Citys public schools and he is currently working on a doctorate in urban education at the City University of New York Graduate Center. Michael Feinstein - City Council, Santa Monica, CA Michael Feinstein is a former City Councilmember and Mayor of Santa Monica. Governor, OH Anita Rios was born and raised in Toledo and grew up as one of eight children of parents who are Mexican-American farm workers. Like many Americans, Anita has worked in a variety of low-wage jobs, as well as jobs with better wages and benefits because of union contracts. As a result of her strong communication and organizing skills, she was elected to head the union at the Zepf Community Mental Health Center, which serves Lucas County wide a wide range of behavorial health services. She negotiated two union contracts, and was the unions representative to the labor council of the AFL-CIO. Fitrakis has been an election protection activist since March 1994, when he served as an international observer for the national elections in El Salvador. He co-wrote and edited the El Salvador election report for the United Nations. Fitrakis was an election protection attorney on November 2, 2004 in Franklin County.
