GREAT NEWS TODAY! We learned from the Internal Revenue Service that our application for tax exempt status was APPROVED! This will enable us to directly secure donations as a bona fide nonprofit agency and provide tax exemption to our contributors. We want to thank 4-C (Community Coordinated Child Care) and their board of directors for serving as the fiscal sponsor for One City Early Learning Centers (enabling early donors to secure a tax exemption in 2014), Melissa Auchard Scholz of Scholz Nonprofit Law for leading us through the tax-exempt application process, and Kay-Tee Franke and Christi Moore Andringa of Madison Noteworthy and Zach Nigh of Green Clock Films for their wonderful video about our effort below. We would also like to thank The Cremer Foundation for recently contributing $50,000 to aid our start-up efforts, CUNA Mutual Group Foundation for being the first investor to support our planning phase ($5,000) and the 102 additional institutional and individual donors who have made financial contributions to our start-up and planning efforts thus far!
