GREATER HAMPTON AREA RESIDENTS - COME HAVE YOUR SAY REGARDING A NEW MULTI-PURPOSE FACILITY The Hampton Arena has been serving the Town and surrounding area since 1977. The facility is nearing the end of its life span and consideration is being given to replacing the single use facility with a multi-use facility. In November 2011, the Town of Hampton and the Local Service Districts surrounding Hampton began a three year project by creating the Greater Hampton Leisure Services Development Committee. One of the mandates of this committee is to assess the recreation needs of the greater Hampton area and how we can work together to realize shared services. Considering the state of the existing arena, the committee has also been working to determine the interest in sharing a multi-purpose facility for the Town of Hampton and surrounding Local Service Districts (LSDs). In August 2013, public meetings and surveys to determine what to include in a facility were conducted in the LSDs of Hampton, Kingston, Norton, Springfield and Upham as well as the Town of Hampton. The committee has worked with this information to determine the potential scope of the project including costing and spacial considerations. As part of the next phase of this project, the committee would like to discuss this information with residents at the following public meetings: Monday, May 26 Nauwigewauk Community Club - LSD Hampton Wednesday, May 28 Christ’s Church Parish Hall – LSD Norton Tuesday, June 3 Trinity Church Hall – LSD Kingston Monday, June 9 Belleisle Community Centre – LSD Springfield Wednesday, June 11 Lighthouse River Centre – Town of Hampton Thursday, June 12 Central Kings Recreation Center – LSD Upham Time: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND!
