GREEN PARTY TO CREATE TANGANYIKA PROVINCE GREEN Party president Peter Sinkamba has promised to create an 11th province to be called Tanganyika if elected president in this month’s poll. Mr Sinkamba said the 11th province would comprise Mbala, Kaputa, Mpulungu, Senga Hill, Mporokoso, Luwingu and Nsumbu districts. He said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that the headquarters of Tanganyika Province would be Mbala. “I am promising the people in this area a new province because this will help us to develop. This area has continued to lag in terms of development because the previous governments did not pay attention to it. “When we form government, we will work hard and ensure that this area is developed to expected levels,” Mr Sinkamba said. He said if elected president, his government will also turn the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Samora Machel Airport in Mbala into a commercial airport to help boost tourism. “If you look at this area, you will understand that there are a lot of tourism products which have been neglected due to lack of serious marketing. “We want to start attracting more tourists to this area so that we can get more revenue from this sector,” he said.
