GREENVILLE, SC - An Upstate man accused of running a puppy mill will spend 90 days in jail. On Friday, a Greenville judge sentenced Dale Ferguson to either pay a fine of $6,270 or go to jail for 90 days. Ferguson will spend the time in jail. Ferguson had been cited with nine counts, five of which were animal cruelty. On Friday, Ferguson pleaded no contest. Back in June, Greenville County deputies and animal control officers said they seized dozens of animals from a home on Dunklin Bridge Road in Fountain Inn. There were more than 100 dogs seized in all, plus six quails, three chickens, a rabbit and a cat taken from the home near Fountain Inn. The dogs have since been adopted from Greenville County Animal Care Services.
