GREENWOOD FURNACE STATE PARK - Programs Saturday, August 9 TIN PAN ALLEY: LOST AND FOUND (7:30 pm in the Blacksmith Shop) Come and join us at 7:30 pm on Saturday, August 9, at the Blacksmith shop for a musical journey exploring several songs from a historian’s point of view! Ever notice that older songs seem like an old friend. From the tunesmiths of Tin Pan Alley, to the composers of the Great American Songbook, these songs are timeless classics, and have entered the American conscious in a variety of ways. _____________________________________________ Sunday, August 10 MAD ABOUT MUSHROOMS (1:00 pm at the Blacksmith Shop) Is there some fungus among us? You Bet! Join local mushroom expert Bill Russell at 1:00 pm Sunday, August 10, at the Blacksmith shop as he takes us on a hike to look for mushrooms. Following the hike, he will show some slides on varieties of mushrooms. Bill Russell has been giving mushroom programs, workshops, and hikes for over 35 years. Bill has published a book called Field Guide to the Wild Mushrooms of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic, which is useful to the novices and experienced wild mushroom hunter. He is a longtime resident of State College, Pennsylvania.
