GREETING EVERYONE!! I am a representative of Black Student Association on St. Catherine University and we are pleased to announce that BSA and ASA will be hosting a panel discussion about Black hair! This event will be held TOMORROW Tuesday, March 18 from 12-1 PM in the Rau/Mor Seminar Room. Please bring all your friends and invite others that you dont know! Loc Starz Natural Hair Salon & Remix Barber and Beauty Salon will be there to present! We will be discussing ( Good Hair Movie with Chris Rock) Some of the questions that will also be discussed are: Explain the anatomy of how African American hair grows and has different texture than Caucasian hair. • What are good treatments for African American Hair and Why? • How is Weave Protective? • What are edges? • Are braids protective or do they break the hair? • How do you treat your hair to go natural and allow it to grow properly? • Do you think that weave and quickweave and relaxers were made to make those with kinky/ nappy try to blend and have our hair be like the caucasian womans hair? o Why or why not? o Could it be an attempt to make hair a common feature where “rough looking” hair is not acceptable? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS LADIES?? I want opinions and insight on all of your thoughts.
