GREG KOTs review of a music festival evening headlined by Built to Spill in 2009. Greg Kot is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, a JESUIT school. According to his website, Kot has lived on Chicagos Northwest Side through numerous character-building winters with his wife, Deb, two daughters and far too many records. I read his book Wilco: Learning How to Die (Three Rivers Press, 2004) when a friend, an engineer for his NPR show, gave me a pre-release copy of his book during college. Very PHILOSOPHICAL rock critic. His most recent book is “Ill Take You There: Mavis Staples, the Staple Singers, and the March Up Freedoms Highway” (Scribner, 2014).
