GROUP INPUT NEEDED: What to do when your 12 year old son is repeating the Ns behaviors? Were in a support group for victims of DV so he knows what abuse is. BUT he is blasting me and his sister constantly...while at school every one raves about how amazing he is. (As his mom- He IS amazing to me in that I love him and support him) I am deeply concerned about the pre-N traits and tactics Im seeing. Be it fleas, genetics or being exposed to one for most of his life...I am deeply concerned. I do use firm boundaries, rewards, consequences. When hes really out of control I get the video camera and he stops immediately. Any concrete advice? Were signed up for a psych eval. PDs are not diagnosed before age 18...but trust me- in my mom gut...I just KNOW. AND there are 3 generations of N men on one side of the family 1 on the other...possibly as many as 3. Orphanages, abandonment, addiction, abuse...his both grandfathers. Grandmother and Mom- both in emotionally neglectful and abusive marriaged..parental alienation by my xN towards me. My son is becoming more loving and empathetic but definitely needs more targeted intervention NOW while hes still forming his character/personality. (Hes immature for his age and has an LD)
