GROVES POLICE DEPARTMENT CALLS FOR SERVICE AUGUST 27 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 131 Miscellaneous calls for service assistance 45 Offense reports filed 1 Motor vehicle accidents investigated WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2014 Theft was reported in the 5200 block of Whitaker, in which a Sony laptop computer, valued at $3,000.00, antique silver utensils valued at $1,000.00, a SigSauer pistol valued at $400.00, and a Husqvarna gas trimmer valued at $200.00 were reported taken from a residence. On routine patrol in the area of East Parkway and 39th Street, a vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 22 year old female was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office warrants. A disturbance was reported in the 6500 block of 39th Street and a 59 year old male was arrested. Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 3700 block of Doyle. Upon investigation, a 34 year old male was arrested for outstanding Jefferson County Warrants. Criminal mischief of damage to a window was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive. A disturbance was reported in the 2700 block of Bryan. THURSDAY, AUGUST 28, 2014 Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account. An emergency mental commitment was processed. A disturbance was reported in the 3600 block of Pure Atlantic. A disturbance was reported in the 4600 block of Twin City Hwy. FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2014 CD’s and coins were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Boyd. A wallet, purse and cash were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Boyd. Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account. A blue 2014 Chevrolet Captiva was stolen from the 5200 block of E. Parkway. A forged check was passed on a business account. Criminal trespass warning notices were issued to persons in the 3100 block of Maple. SATURDAY, AUGUST 30 , 2014 Someone attempted to steal boat speakers in the 6600 block of Terrell. An assault was reported in the 6200 block of Jefferson. A 28 year old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Twin City Hwy. A 25 year old male was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance after a traffic stop in the 4200 block of Twin City Hwy. An assault was reported in the 3900 block of Taft. SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 2014 A Glock model 23C handgun was stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of Owens. A Dell laptop computer, monitor charger and tools were stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Charles. The report of a threat was made in the 4800 block of Twin City Hwy. A 26 year old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant after officers were called to a disturbance in the 3000 block of South. A 36 year old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3400 block of Taft. MONDAY, SEPTEMER 1, 2014 An assault was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway. A 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from the 3200 block of Taft and was recovered in the 6900 block of 32nd Street. Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account. A 62 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication in the 3900 block of 39th Street. A 41 year old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5200 block of 39th Street. A vehicle parked in the 6300 block of Monroe was scratched by dogs chasing a cat. A 44 year old female was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance and an outstanding warrant after officers investigated the report of a stolen vehicle. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 A generator was stolen from a truck parked in the 5200 block of E. Parkway. A disturbance was reported in the 2500 block of Owens. A disturbance was reported in the 7000 block of Live Oak. A disturbance was reported in the 7000 block of Terrell. A 25 year old female was arrested on an outstanding Groves warrant in the 5100 block of E. Parkway. A juvenile runaway was located.
