GROVES POLICE DEPARTMENT CALLS FOR SERVICE: NOVEMBER 6 - 12, 2013 121 Miscellaneous calls for service assistance 42 Offense reports filed 1 Motor vehicle accidents investigated WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2013 An assault was reported in the 5200 block of Twin City Hwy. Officers were called to the 5100 block of East Parkway in reference to a suspicious subject. An investigation resulted in the arrest of three persons. One was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, another for Public Intoxication and the third person was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Orange County. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2013 A 21 year old male was arrested on Groves warrants after a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Twin City Hwy. Theft was reported in the 4400 block of Twin City Highway. Upon investigation, a 25 year old female was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A citizen in the 2300 block of Owens reported the theft of a city trash container. Local business in the 5200 block of 39th Street reported an intoxicated person. Upon investigating, a 34 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication and drug charges. A local business owner in the 6100 block of Gulfway reported fraud of a check for $710.00. Officers were dispatched to an intoxicated person in a local business in the 3700 block of Main Avenue. A 33 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication. A disturbance was reported in the 2600 block of Twin City. Upon checking all parties involved, a 31 year old male was arrested on Port Arthur Warrants. A citizen reported a theft in the 2600 block of Twin City, and a 34 year old female was arrested on Port Arthur Warrants. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2013 On a routine traffic stop in the 3400 block of East Parkway, officers checked the driver and the 28 year old male was arrested for Port Arthur Warrants. A 10 speed Magna mountain bike was stolen from the 2900 block of First Avenue. A gold tie clip, silver baby jewelry box and a belt buckle were stolen from the 6300 block of Warren. A 22 year old male was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a theft investigation in the 6200 block of Gulfway. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9 , 2013 A 31 year old male was arrested for DWI in the 3200 block of High Avenue. A 21 year old female was arrested for Public Intoxication and a city ordinance violation in the 3200 block of High Avenue. A Criminal Trespass Warning notice was issued in the 6100 block of Warren. An Assault was reported in the 5100 block of E. Parkway. An Assault was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2013 A 2000 Mercury Mariner 4 door was stolen from the 4900 block of Beaumont. A white 1999 Dodge truck was stolen from the 6100 block of Gulfway. The report of a Threat was made. A Disturbance was reported in the 6300 block of Warren. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2013 Officers responded to the 6100 block of Washington in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Two persons were arrested on outstanding area warrants. A resident in the 3800 block of Canal reported harassment and upon investigation a 58 year old male was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning. Burglary of a habitation was reported by a resident in the 3100 block of Oak Avenue in which two step ladders, a 4 ft. valued at $59.00 and a 6 ft. valued at $69.00 also reported taken was a box fan valued at $20.00. A resident in the 5300 block of Gulfway drive reported the theft of a Kenwood CD player valued at $150.00 taken from a green 98’ Chevrolet pickup. A 22 year old male was arrested by an officer on routine patrol for Fail to Identify after a traffic stop. A disturbance was reported in the 6700 block of 25th Street at a local apartment complex. A orange and white STIHL leaf blower valued at $151.00 was taken with consent from a residents garage. Criminal Mischief was reported by a resident in the 2100 block of Perry Avenue in which a window valued at $500.00 was broken. A unwanted subject was reported in the 2100 block of Perry Avenue and upon investigation a 40 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication. Resident in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive reported the theft of several miscellaneous power tools, leather jackets, a brass lamp and blankets. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2013 A vicious dog was reported in the 2600 block of First Avenue. A lady was walking her dog on a leash when it was attacked by another dog, injuring it. TIP OF THE WEEK Do not use a debit card to shop online especially if the website does not look one hundred percent official. If the source in unreliable, the bank account connected to the debit card can be drained and overdraft charges can be occur. With a credit card, a billing error can be reported, and charges can be dropped.
