GROWTH IN CHANGE By Derek C. Lane – Mr. Prolific Yeshayahuw The silence of my mind Is too hard to maintain, The absence of reality Seems to be the pain, What’s wrong with this world? Are we all insane? Blind to the fact that we all need to change. I will never again become a victim to defeat, With my mind on JESUS, I know I can’t be beat. It’s been a struggle to live my life on repeat, So I surrendered to JESUS and now I’m complete. When I was living my life in total depravity, Escaping the pressures that formed my reality, No one could understand the man that’s inside of me, So logically, Everyone was my enemy. But was it really true based on what I was thinking, Or was it the effects from my habit of drinking? Quickly I was sinking, To a place of no return, Given a choice from the lessons I learn. Growth is the product of change, and it starts in my mind. So, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time, But thank GOD for mercy, And His light that shines, In the darkness of sin, My heart is inclined, To thank the LORD because I am redeemed. My life has been changed and given to a new scene. Although I may be surrounded by the burdens of life, My goal is sure, As I concentrate on all that is pure. There’s no way I can make it in this world without the ONE I call “KING!” I know He is real and the LORD of everything. I give myself away so He can use me, Use me to reach all those in poverty, Because change starts with me, Change is growth and growth shows change, But the fact still remains in the Name that I claim, The destiny of my change, My life rearranged no longer the same, Unable to contain What lies within me, The fact that I’m free!
